Before the 1980s, Kress also launched a comprehensive range of professional, handheld power tools. In the following decade, the product range was expanded with battery-powered tools, and a research and development center was established in Wattwil, Switzerland. Distribution also improved and eventually covered more than 60 countries through a network of specialized dealers. Recent years have been groundbreaking for Kress. In 2017, the brand joined the international giant Positec Group. The new capital and improved R&D capabilities meant that Kress went all-in to develop handheld outdoor power equipment. The revolutionary tools were a success with commercial park and garden workers, as well as private individuals seeking high-quality products. 2023 is the latest major milestone in the brand's nearly 100-year history. Kress then launched the next generation of battery systems.
